Course Description:
This course is designed to develop fundamental swimming for fitness skills and knowledge. Topics include history, terminology, wellness, safety, equipment, lap swimming conditioning drills, games, aquatic based rhythmic aerobic activities, and conditioning activities that build flexibility, muscular endurance, muscular strength, and cardio-respiratory fitness. Upon successful completion, students should be able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to participate in water-based activities and make healthy life choices.
