The Department of Recreation Management and Physical Education offers access to a variety of advising resources for students. While these resources provide critical information, students are always encouraged to consult with their academic advisor regarding advising issues.

Academic Advising Center

Academic Advising will challenge and support students who have not yet declared a major, in the identification and achievement of their educational goals, as well as in their development as independent thinkers and learners.

DegreeWorks is a comprehensive, easy-to-use, web-based academic advising and degree audit tool that helps students and their advisors successfully navigate curriculum requirements.

General Education

Your liberal education at Appalachian begins with the General Education Program. About one-third of the courses you will take during your college years will be General Education courses from across the university.

Aspire Appalachian works with students admitted to the main Appalachian campus from Caldwell, Central Piedmont and Wilkes Community Colleges.
