Secretary Regan visits RM class

Faculty member Thomas Randolph invited Secretary Regan to speak to his Recreation Management class. Sounds like everyone enjoyed the visit from the Secretary for NC

Secretary Regan,

Thank you for coming to my Environmental Education Class at Appalachian State University last week. I talked with my students yesterday and they also wanted to express their gratitude. Several students said that it was refreshing to hear your clear and insightful views about protecting the environment.  They were impressed with your answers to their questions. I think your visit was a perfect example of higher education at its best! They really seemed more excited and vocal about protecting the environment during our Leopold class discussion yesterday. I also want to thank you for presenting the Project Wet Certificates. The comments in class yesterday were all positive, and they were all impressed with your ideas, advice, and NC DEQ’s mission. Now, the semester will move along as we continue working toward our Leopold Education Workshop Certification, but I wanted to take a moment to say thank you so much for a special day, and please come back and visit any time.

Professor, Thomas Randolph
