I like to read and cook when the weather is bad, and ride my dual sport motorcycle, hike with my dogs, or paddle the New River when the weather is good.

How did you discover Appalachian State University?

I grew up in Cullowhee North Carolina, so discovered App State when they trounced WCU every year in football. Then I decided if you can't beat them join them, and went did my undergraduate work here.

What is your favorite thing about Boone?

The rivers and the parkway and the national forests surrounding it.

What most excites you about your field?

I love seeing young people at the beginning of their professional journey- those journeys that will impact so many people's lives.
